We've been selling watches for over 12 years now and never come across a watch like this!
When we purchased it the description said it was vintage 1945. I doubt that this is accurate as it has a Japanese movement and, as I recall, WWII had not ended and our relationship with Japan could not be described as cordial at that time.
Research tells us that the Japanese watchmaking industry was severely damaged during the war and did not fully recover until the early 1950's when the Korean war began.
That said, we can't determine the vintage of this timepiece but, my guess, it was probably manufactured in the 60's.
It has something about that 1960's vibe, quite flashy with a 1 1/4" square textured silverplated case with filigree details at the corners. The watch measures 1" across and features a silver dial contrasting with black Roman numerals, fancy black Louis XVI Roskoph hands, and signed Rhapsody Royale, 17 jewels.
The 1 1/4" wide bracelet matches with textured matte silverplated 1/4" discs individually linked together and silver clasp which should fit up a 6 1/4" wrist.
The aforementioned 17 jewel, manual wind, Japanese movement, sets and winds effortlessly, is running strong and keeping good time.
