ABOUT THE BRAND:
Croton Watches, founded in 1878, is a historic American watch brand renowned for combining Swiss craftsmanship with Italian-inspired design, evolving into a family-owned global timepiece company.
Origins and Early Development:
Croton Watches traces its roots to 1878 when Jacob Horton established a watch and jewelry trade business in New York, USA.
The company initially focused on accessible, stylish timepieces that combined quality and value.
By 1928, the business formally became Croton Watch Co., Inc., expanding into assembling watches from Swiss and American components.
Harold I. Horton, Jacob’s son, trained in Swiss watchmaking and continued the family legacy, ensuring precision and craftsmanship in Croton timepieces.
Swiss and Italian Influence:

The brand’s name is inspired by the Italian city of Crotone, historically known for intelligence, strength, and beauty, which influenced the aesthetic and quality standards of the watches.
