We don't sell too many ladies' timepieces as the market for them is dwarfed by the demand for men's watches.

But, when we do, we are determined to offer some of the most unusual, oldest, and rarest ones we find.

Such is the case with this wonderful ladies' 1969 "Old School" Caravelle by Bulova that we could just picture Olivia Newton-John wearing in Grease!

The petite 21.5 mm / 0.84" chrome case, excluding crown and lugs, surrounds a perfectly preserved light ivory dial complimented by silver hour and minute hands, red center sweep second hand, raised silver Arabic numbers, and black outer chapter

The 17 jewel, cal. RK, manual-wind movement sets and winds as it should, is running strong, and keeping excellent time!

It has a snap-down stainless steel back and is matched with a chrome capped, stainless steel flex bracelet which may be original to the watch.

Caravelle, a brand introduced by Bulova in 1962, was designed to compete with lower-priced watches like Timex, offering jeweled timepieces at a more affordable price point.

Initially, Caravelle watches featured simple hand-wound movements and chrome-plated cases.
Later, they incorporated more jewels and experimented with transistorized movements.

While initially focused on jeweled watches, Caravelle also produced dive watches, including the popular 666 ft diving watch.

Although originally a United States-focused brand, Caravelle watches became popular for their quality and affordability.

Today, Caravelle is considered a fashion watch brand, with Citizen owning the brand and using Miyota movements in their watches.
