Thousands of vintage watches have crossed my desk over the past 18+ years and, although I have more watches than I can ever wear, once in while I find a special one that I am tempted to keep for myself, even for just a short while. Such is the case for the beauty I am showing you now!
Manufactured in Switzerland in the 1970's, this is a stunning men's LAORA dress wristwatch!
The polished stainless steel 155ourneau as case measures 32 mm / 1.3" in diameter, excluding signed crown and lugs.
The dial can be a stunning strawberry red to a soft brown depending on the light with a subtle horizontal stripe across it.
The hour, minute, and center sweep hands are gold as are the raised markers and outer chapter with a gold framed date window @ 3 o'clock.
The Swiss, 17 jewel incabloc movement set and wind as it should, is running strong and keeping excellent time.
It has a screw-down back with the famous jumping fish logo and is matched with, what may be, its original 17 mm, adjustable stainless steel link bracelet.

ABOUT THE LAORA SWISS WATCH COMPANY:
Ogival was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, 1903, by Mr. Rene Brandt, a passionate watch-maker for advanced techniques and quality. He created a jumping fish as the symbol of Ogival to launch into the Swiss timepiece industry, and the fish soon appeared in navigation field with Ogival's precise marine chronometers.
The jumping lucky fish becomes the first impression for Ogival. The symbol is chosen for its meaning of blessing and love in Latin America. With this logo, Ogival keeps the tradition on making excellent watches of blessing and love and catches the eyes of numerous watch collectors at present days.
