This unusual, fancy sculptured case, Swiss Nastrix 17 jewel men's gold dress wristwatch would be a welcomed addition to your vintage watch collection or a great way to start one.!

The 10K rolled gold plate case measures 23.9 mm X 24.1mm (0.92" X 0.95") excluding crown and lugs and surrounds ivory dial complimented by gold stick hour and minute hands, black stone markers at 9, 12, and 3 o'clock, raised clear stone markers at the other positions, back outer chapter, and sub-second dial @ 6 o'clock, all under a bright new domed crystal!

The 17 jewel Swiss movement sets and winds as it should, is running strong and keeping very good time.

PLESSE NOTE: The crown on this watch is nestled rather deep within the case and may if, like me, you have arthritis in your hands. I manage winding and setting it by simply turning the bottom of the crown with my finger

I have fitted it with a new brown, genuine leather, stitched and embossed strap with gold buckle.

    JFK AND NASTRIX:

In 1963 Kennedy was given a Nastrix watch by the Washington socialite couple of David and Evangeline Bruce. The couple had been major supporters of Kennedy’s presidential campaign, and gave the President the watch as a “thank you” after he appointed Mr. Bruce as the US ambassador to Great Britain. The back of the watch bears the inscription “To President John F. Kennedy from the Evangelines 1963.” The selfwinding, waterresistant piece featured a 14karat yellow gold case and was, according to the President’s secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, worn frequently by the President during his morning swims. After the President’s assassination, Ms. Lincoln made sure the watch got back to Kennedy’s widow. In 1968, Jacqueline Kennedy married Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis and on their third wedding anniversary (Oct. 20, 1971) gave him the same Nastrix watch as a gift after having a new inscription added; “FALJ” (standing for “For Ari, Love Jacki”) was inscribed between the lugs on the watch case.
