This is a very rare military wristwatch from the WWII era in unusually well-preserved condition!
Manufactured in Switzerland and features a 31.1 / 1/22" mm, chrome over brass case, excluding cushion crown and lugs. It surrounds a very clean original parchment dial complimented with gold hour, minute, and sweep second hands, gold numbers, and black outer chapter, all under a bright new, hi-dome crystal.
The Swiss 7 jewel, super shock resistant, manual wind movement, signed Avalon, sets and winds as it should, is running well and keeping very good time.
It has a stainless steel, screw-down back and has been fitted with a new black, genuine leather, stitched strap with stainless buckle.
ABOUT THE BRAND:
Although very little is know about the company's history but we can confirm that Avalon was owned by parent company Banner Watch Company – founded in 1881 – and imported by Schein & Engle of New York.
