Seiko has a reputation for building strong running, reliable timepieces for decades and this Seiko 5, manufactured in Japan in 1981, is an excellent example.
The all stainless steel case measures 37.7 mm across, excluding recessed crown and lugs, and surrounds a sunken black dial complimented by gold outlined black hour and minute hands, gold sweep, raised diamond markers at 6, 9, and 12, gold outer chapter, and both date and bilingual day windows at 3 o'clock.
The auto-wind movement sets and winds as it should and is keeping excellent time.
Please remember that automatic watches must be wound of shaken to apply pressure to the mainspring and get them running when wound down. While you wear it and remain active, the motion of your wrist will continue to wind it.
The reliable 23 jewel, cal 6309, movement has been serviced and is keeping very good time.
It has a screw-down back and has been fitted with a new, adjustable, stainless steel link bracelet.
